The world of social media marketing is a very interesting and profitable world. It is where popular social media websites such as American website Twitter founded by Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone in March, 2006 and it’s fellow American website Facebook which was founded in February, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin and Chris Hughes are used by numerous businesses to promote the products their trying to sell by posting daily or weekly updates as well as giving perspective customers information on special offers they are offering via their social media profiles.
Before the arrival of social media, companies had less options to promote their businesses but since it has arrived on the scene numerous businesses have used this new method of “Real-time Communication” with both it’s customers and it’s potential customers to it’s advantage.
Many different types of businesses use social media as a means of promoting their business to a wider audience which they otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach around the world from shops to magazines to small businesses and celebrities. It is also a way for customers to contact the company if they have any questions regarding a product, a refund or any other element of the business.
Different businesses use different tones from formal to humorous. This depends on how they want to represent their company to their customers. They use their customer profile which details factors about their customers such as their age, gender, likes, dislikes, their profession and their lifestyle to decide on what kind of tone to use such as a formal tone if their target market is older professionals or a more upbeat, fun tone if their target market is young students.
Nowadays businesses include their Facebook and Twitter website addresses on leaflets as well as their phone and fax numbers, address and e-mail address. It gives customers more options to contact them and in an intangible aspect it shows customers that they have went to the trouble of setting up an extra option for them to contact them and in turn builds up customer rapport.
There is no doubt that social media has become a huge source for businesses to promote themselves further to their customers which is always what businesses are on the look-out for.Author's Google+
