Blogging is a great way to get noticed in search engines and it gives you something to share to your followers. As a blogger and business owner for over 19 months I know how difficult it is to find the time to get blog posts written. Over the 19 months I’ve developed my own methods of finding time to blog and I’ll be sharing those with you today.
How much time do you have?
Look at how much time you are spending on marketing elsewhere, for instance on social media and how effective is it, how many sales are you getting are you getting any sales? Or is there any spare time you or an employee have while at work?. These are the times when you could be allowing space for some blogging time, granted it may not be enough time to have a complete blog posts finished as long as you can get a title written down, then next time you have some free time you can work on some notes about the body of the post, just keep building on the notes and then once you’re ready type it up.
Use a calendar to get more blog posts out?
I’ve found the biggest way to find have more time is to get more organised. An editorial calendar is without a doubt one of the best way to get more blog posts out there. I use Editorial Calendar a free wordpress but you can use any calendar.
Either at the start of the week or end, figure out how much time you have next week to spend on blogging and how long it takes to write a post on average. Now spend 10 to 20 minutes creating some titles for some blog posts for the next week if you have more time write some notes about what will be in the post this will make it easier when you go to write the post. Add the titles to a specific day so you know which days to write a post before the day.
Publish shorter blog posts
If you have 30 minutes free a week it will be hard to get a 500 word blog post written and published. As publishing at least once a week is important for SEO purposes also for any potential customers that visit your site. So I suggest shorten what you have to say but keep it above 250 words as it won’t rank very well in the search engines if its any lower.
Using the Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro technique is one of the best time management tools in the world. The tool is basically a ticking clock that ticks for 30 minutes which you work as hard as you can for. Once the 30 minutes is up the clock will ring and you can take a 2 minutes break from it. And cycle starts again after those 2 minutes.
